The Dutch record in the half marathon set by Abdi Nageeye was the sporting highlight of the highly successful 48th edition of the NN CPC Loop Den Haag. After a one-time “detour” to the autumn due to the coronavirus pandemic, the NN CPC Loop Den Haag has returned to spring. Exactly 168 days after the previous edition in September, over 27,000 participants celebrated the windy 47th edition of this inspiring running event for everyone, with cheerful, happy faces. Kenyan runner Brian Kiptoo and Nienke Brinkman emerged as the winners of the international main event, the half marathon. Here’s a report in 14 chapters.

The NN CPC Loop Den Haag has returned in a sunny manner. Due to COVID-19, the 46th edition had to be postponed three times, but the wait was more than worth it. To be exact, it was 931 days after the 45th anniversary in 2020 that this inspiring running event for everyone had a festive continuation. Not, as usual, in spring, but exceptionally in the autumn.

The 45th edition of the NN CPC Loop Den Haag had an exciting finish, with Dawit Wolde emerging as the impressive winner. The Ethiopian narrowly beat Kenyans Kelvin Kiptum and Bernard Kimani in a thrilling sprint to the finish. It rained a little at times, and a fresh wind blew, but what stood out most at the jubilee event were the many cheerful, satisfied, and proud faces among the 35,000 participants. “It’s a celebration to take part.”
